Star Wars Day…..May the 4th be with you…..

HOMEPAGE

Until this year I was one of the unenlightened few having never seen a Star Wars film. I know, I know, I lost count of how many times having declared I had never seen any of the George Lucas epics I got the response…”How come you’ve never seen a Star Wars film….?

I was never into sci-fi during my childhood and they just passed me by. Along with Dr Who and most of the Star Trek series. I could probably recognise a few Star Trek characters, Captain Kirk, Spock, Scotty….that’s probably about it. And when it comes to Star Wars my list was similarly short….Luke Skywalker, Princess Leah…oh and Darth Vader. Although I had no idea of who was related to who…??

Well this year, I decided I needed to change the situation. I watched the 4th film, well the 4th in the series but the first to be released.

It was good I enjoyed it.

I think the fact that I saw it in 2017 as opposed to 1977 so my expectations of animation and CGI had to be adjusted, watching it as a 50 something as opposed to a teenager didn’t spoil my enjoyment.

So, for the first time ever I can announce ‘May the force be with you’ on May the 4th!!
